I’ve decided to give this another shot. I was ready to close up shop, but I think instead I’ll give it another go. I’m still getting tons of comment spam which drives me nuts. But I guess it comes with the territory. Perhaps I can upgrade my WordPress installation and see if there are more spam fighting tools available for it.
In any case, I won’t be shutting down the site after all (at least not yet).

Hi, great site, thanks for info! You can optimize your site as well. In wp-admin go to options - permalinks - and under common options cilck on Date and name based. This way search engines can find you way better:)
Thanks for the suggestion. I went ahead and made the change… unfortunately, it broke the site and I had no way to reset it back to what it was. It turned out I needed to have my host enabled mod_rewrite. Down time was minimal, I just wish there had been some warning on that page that I might have some down time.
Anyway, it’s working great. Thanks for the suggestion.
